Workshops

Dauntless Evolution are committed to educating the future generations of artists. We are excited to provide students with the opportunity to learn and develop Physical Theatre skills alongside our experienced team. Our workshops provide an in-depth look into our creative process and give students an insight into what a Dauntless Evolution rehearsal room looks like.

Every workshop has a fundamental core of teaching and developing physical theatre and devising skills that we use as a company to create work. As a base all workshops include:

  • An introduction to Physical Theatre

  • The importance of collaboration - how a unified ensemble can utilise physical theatre.

  • Our use of verbatim to deliver truth - Combining physical movement with original writing to create meaningful narrative.

  • The importance of sound and lighting to enhance performance.

  • Key elements of devising - developing a show from a specific stimulus and building from the ground up.

  • Object manipulation and entry-level puppetry skills - how we use props and the environment around us to create visual storytelling.

  • Directorial support on student’s own work ( supporting the development of pieces created for exam specifications or helping students get started on a new piece of devised material).
